Inspire - your new look Church Magazine.
Letter from the Editor
Hi Everyone,
I can hardly believe that Easter has come and gone and summer is just around the corner. You will see that we are sticking with the new format of INSPIRE. The feedback people gave was by and large positive so we decided that this is the way the magazine will look for a time to come.
Thankfully people supported our coffee after church. The donations from this, plus individual donations, from three members of our congregation means that we had enough money to print our cover this time. Thanks to everyone who helped out.
If anyone wants to comment on the magazine and would like to have it included in the next issue please send you comments to me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or hand it to me in church.
I am sure you will be interested to know that the photograph on the front cover was taken by Trevor Joice – a big thanks you to Trevor.
Welcome to your new look and new named church magazine. We hope you will enjoy reading the new style magazine. The changes have come about after much committee work and discussion. Some of you may remember that last year we sought ideas for a new name for the magazine. We had over 20 suggestions and the editorial committee decided on INSPIRE. This name was put forward by Mrs Flo Smith and we would like to thank her for suggesting what we consider to be a very apt name. This is our first attempt at a smaller book size magazine. We did an audit of over 20 magazines and found that most churches were using A5 size. The feeling was that it was easier to read as it was easier to hold. At the same time as we were working on a new style magazine, a group within the church were taking forward some of our church plans from the five yearly visit. One of the areas they were looking at was publicity. With this in mind we have up- marketed the front cover. Our first run has been sponsored by one of our church members. It is hoped that the funds for future editions will be raised through advertising. Anyone interested in placing an advert in the magazine should contact me by e-mail – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. It is rather like putting flowers in the church. People can sign up to contribute towards the cost of printing a cover for one of the magazines throughout the year. This sponsorship need not be for a large amount. Many small contributions will soon make up the costs involved. We would love to have your comments on the new format. These can be e-mailed or you can speak to Louise McEwan or me on a Sunday morning. Looking forward to hearing your views.
