HOLIDAY KLUB by Trish Reid
One day Jesus said to his special friends “ I want you to be happy like me”.
This has been our verse and our focus for the Sundays from May to September and we enjoyed discovering what this means for us. Each week we did our very best to create a warm and friendly atmosphere and tried to be attentive and thoughtful to the children’s developing talents and different needs. 33 children attended, but not all at the same time! Some only missed the weeks when away on holiday. We painted, glued, did drawings and crayoned; listened to stories; made and shaped play dough; planted bulbs; iced cupcakes and biscuits; made masks, played board games, games in the hall and with Noah’s Ark. Our work is posted in the small hall I you want to have a look. Jesus little special friends helped each other, shared, laughed, looked out for each other and mucked in together. Huge thanks to all who helped; for their enthusiastic commitment from teenagers to Mummys and Daddys and Grannies. We finished end August with a party for the children and a Bring and Share meal for the Helpers. When Bright Sparks and Sunday Surfers isn’t on WE ARE. All children are welcome, and parents too if you want to stay. |
